The Need to Retreat

Saturday, December 13th, 2008

There are times when the pressures of daily living become overwhelming. That is the time that you need to take some time for yourself and retreat. You might tell me that you work from home and it is difficult to create a space for yourself to retreat to when the pressures of daily living overcome you.
Going into nature or beautiful surroundings provides the ideal backdrop for a retreat. However that is not always possible or feasable for many.

If there are many times that it is impossible to physically move yourself from your surrroundings to seek a quiet place, you can still take a moment and center yourself and breathe deeply. You might just want to follow your breath and the rhthym of your heartbeats in order to find that sacred space and personal sanctuary that exists within you. Remember that you can find the peace within you no matter what!

Sunday, December 7th, 2008

As the New Year approaches you may be assessing your own life and your own purpose on this earth.Perhaps you are thinking of ways to be of help to others. You may be thinking of extending yourself in a compassionate way to others. You are a strong and caring person who has alot to offer others.Honor your thoughts about doing some service for others without any accolades or expectations for doing this. Become aware of the fact that helping others has great value, and can impact many lives in a positive way.

As you are pondering about helping others know that one way to help is comforting others in difficult times. Showing compassion and love to others can provide great comfort as they navigate through life’s challenges. Sooner or later everyone experiences difficult times. Your inner strength can be of support to others and help them to feel strong again. When people feel supported and cared for they can move through distress easier. Let others know that you are there for them, and it will bolster their spirits and help them with dealing with their cares and difficulties. By setting an intention toward helping others you are becoming a powerful compassionate force in their lives. It also has a rippling effect. As others do the same, you are helping to uplift the cares of those on the planet one by one.

Where Can I Find True Beauty??

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Beauty that is true speaks to you boldly or quietly.Look at the soft symphoney of colors that the sunsrise provides. Then compare that to the brash power of a storm at sea. Think of the quiet smile of a child that you love and compare that beauty to the brilliance of fireworks. Think of the calming scent of beautiful flowers and then compare that beauty to a marvelous symphoney playing loud yet passionate sounds.

Depending on your personal preference you can find beauty in the colors that you resonate with. You can also find beauty in scents, flavors and textures. Beauty can be found in an old barn that is loved and treasured by its owner. It can also be found in a boat that is revered by another. You can find beauty everywhere. You just need to take the time and the patience to really look for it.
